Storm Warning

          According to the observations at (19:00)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved to East- Northeast wards. It is centered at about (100)miles Northwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), (205)miles Southwest of  Pathein (Myanmar), (280)miles Southwest of Yangon (Myanmar) and (195)miles North-Northwest of Port Blair(India). It is forecast to move East-Northeast wards and further intensify into a cyclonic storm during the next (36)hrs.The present stage of the depression is coded orange stage. It is moving towards Myanmar coasts.

 Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

          Depression is located at about Latitude (14.8) degree North and Longitude (91.8) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is about (35)miles per hour at (19:00) hrs MST today.

Forecast for next (36) hours

          It is forecast to further intensify into a cyclonic storm and reach near Myanmar coasts in the evening on 23rd October, 2016.

 General caution

Under the influence of the depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthyi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States during 23rd October to 25th October, 2016.

          Squalls with rough sea are likely off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h.

Advisory

Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised to avert in condition of the depression.
