SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway and Bago Regions, Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and isolated heavy falls in Magway and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thabeikkyin (6.46)inches, TadaU (5.83)inches, Singaing (4.08)inches, Ngazun (3.92)inches, Kanbalu (3.34)inches, Myeik (3.27)inches, Pinlebu (2.32)inches, Namsam (2.13)inches, Sagaing (2.05)inches, Kalay (1.97)inches, Kyaukse (1.93)inches, Manaung and Kawthong (1.89)inches each, Mindat and Yangon (Kabaaye) (1.85)inches each, Katha (1.81)inches, Khayan (1.78)inches, Yeu and Gangaw (1.65)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
