SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Rakhing State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Magway, Bago, and Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Shwebo (6.02)inches, Zaungtu (2.72)inches, Kyauktaw and Kawthong (1.89)inches each, Monywa (Kyaemone) (1.65)inches, Loikaw (1.47)inches, Kyaukmae (1.42)inches, Pyawbwe (1.38)inches, Thayat (1.22)inches, Sittwe (1.18)inches and Bhamo (1.06) inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West central Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, kachin, Shan and kayah States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions.
