21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (16:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Eastcentral Bay of Bangel and adjoin North Andaman Sea has moved west-northwest and intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. It is likely to continue to move West-Northwestwards and may intensify into a Depression around 22-10-2024 and into a Cyclonic storm over Eastcentral Bay around 23-10-2024 and may reach to Northwest Bay of Bengal (off Odisha-West Bengal Coasts, India). Thereafter, it is likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a severe Cyclonic Strom and may cross north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island in early morning 25-10-2024.

Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing. Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls, isolated heavyfalls and strong winds from tonight up to 24-10-2024.

Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 45-50 m.p.h. Wave height will be about  9-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

 

Advisory

 People should be awared the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, lightning, hails, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flight.
