Tropical Depression over the middle South China Sea (No.01/2020)

According to the observations at (06:30) hrs MST today, Yesterday’s the low pressure area over the middle South China Sea has futher intensified into a tropical Deperssion. It is centered at about (370) miles East of Ho Chi Minh(Vietnam). It is expected to reach the southern coast of Vietnam on tonight. It will continuously move to westward and then it will cross the Gulf of Thailand thereafter southern Thailand and southern Myanmar as a low pressure area. It is expected to reach the Andaman Sea (9.10.2020).
General Caution
Due to the tropical Deperssion, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts during (8.10.2020) to (11.10.2020).

Due to the tropical Deperssion, people should be aware heavy rainfall with strong wind, flash flood and landslide near the hilly areas and also small rivers.
