SPECIAL FEATURE CONDITION (No.05/2018)

According to the observations at (22:00) hrs MST today, the tropical depression over the Gulf of Thailand has moved West-Northwestwards and centered at about (85)miles South-Southwest of Pattaya, about (45)miles Southeast of Prachuap Khiri Khan (Thailand), about (125)miles Southeast of Myeik, about (270)miles Southeast of Yay and about (340)miles Southeast of Mawlamyine (Myanmar). It is likely to make landfall over Prachuap Khiri Khan (Thailand) by overnight. It is forecast to move West- Northwestwards and may cross in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and reach into the Andaman Sea as a low pressure area.
General Caution
Due to the Tropical Depression, rain will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Thaintharyi Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls within 24 hours commencing overnight.
Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts.Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts.
