Severe Cyclonic Storm “HAMOON” Condition
According to the observations at (08:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic storm “HAMOON”over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northeastwards and intensified into a Severe Cyclonic Storm “HAMOON” over Westcentral Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (340) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Thandwe, (260) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe, (240) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar), (115) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Paradip, (145) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Digha (India), (190) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Severe Cyclonic storm “HAMOON” is coded yellow stage.

Severe Cyclonic storm “HAMOON” is located at Latitude (19.3) degree North and Longitude (88.4) degree East, centre pressure of Severe Cyclonic storm “HAMOON” is (992) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (55-60) miles per hour at (08:30) hrs MST today.

The Severe Cyclonic storm “HAMOON” is likely continue to move North-Northeastwards and is likely to cross Bangladesh coast between Khepupara and Chittagong during next (36)hrs.

Due to the Severe Cyclonic storm “HAMOON”, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Chin and Rakhine States, scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan State with isolated heavy falls in some Regions and States. Occasionally squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in off and along Rakhine Coast from commencing today morning to (25.10.2023).
