Severe Cyclonic Storm Condition
According to the observations at (21:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” over North Bay of Bengal has continued to move nearly Northwards and centered at about (180) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Maungdaw, (220) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe,(Myanmar), (65) Nautical miles Southwest of Khepupara, (70) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Mongla, (Bangladesh), (65) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Sagar Island, (95) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Digha and (65) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Canning (West Bangal, India).
It has not directed towards Myanmar Coasts, the present stage of the Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” is coded yellow stage.

The Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” is likely to continue to move Northwards and the outmost banding features of and Cyclonic Storm is crossing Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts, India. The center of Cyclonic Storm will forecast to cross Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Sagar Island (India) and Khepupara, close to Mongla (Bangladesh) tonight.
General caution
Under the influence of Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL”, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States along with strong winds from tonight to 27-5-2024. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph and wave height will be about 9-12 feet. Frequent squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 45-55 mph and wave height will be about 13-16 feet.
