(22.10.2020)  According to the observations at (06:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over  the West Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a Depression during next (12)hrs. Thereafter it is likely to move North-Northeastwards and may further intensify into a Deep Depression during next (36)hrs near West Bengal (India) and Bengladesh coasts. Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

"Outreach Events on IPCC Role, Activities and Finding”

PRESS RELEASE

          The opening ceremony of the "Outreach Events on IPCC Role, Activities and Finding” jointly organized by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - IPCC and Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) was held this afternoon at the Office No. (5), Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw.

     The Union Minister for Ministry of Transport and Communications, H.E. U Thant Sin Maung delivered the welcome address. Opening remarks were be given by Mr. Panmao Zhai, Co-Chair of Working Group I, IPCC. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Win Myat Aye, Union Minister for Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Deputy Ministers for Ministry of Transport and Communications, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Transport and Communication and Heads of Departments, Experts from IPCC, Professors from Yangon and Mandalay Universites, Lecturers and Students from Forestry University and Agriculture University, representative from invited ministries and officials from Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.

          The seminar will be conducted with the objectives: to understand the IPCC Role, Activities and Finding on Climate Change, to support the Science-Policy Dialogue for Policy Makers, to support the climte change knowledge for Science and Research Community and Medias. The seminar will continue to hold till 31st May, 2019.
