SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Upper Sagaing Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Bago Regions, Northern Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Sagaing (6.30)inches, Co-co Island (5.25)inches, Hainggyikyun (2.20)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.09)inches, Myeik (1.89)inches, Taunggyi and Manaung (1.77)inches and Mandalay (1.53)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal remained partically stationary and has further intensified into a deep depression. It is centered at about (85)miles North-Northwest of Coco-Island, (85)miles Southwest of Hainggyikyun, (125)miles Southwest of Pathein and (155)miles South - Southwest of Gwa, (205)miles Southwest of Yangon, Myanmar. It is forecast to further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next (12)hrs and reach near Myanmar Coast (Delatic areas), recurve and continue North – Northwest wards today evening.Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th October, 2016: Weather will be partly cloudy in Kachin State. Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region, Shan, Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway and Magway Regions, and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional Squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40)to (45)m.p.h.
