SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin, Eastern Shan and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myeik (2.32)inches, Pingkyone (1.93)inches, Kawthong (1.30)inches, Chaungsone (0.94) inch, Mindat (0.90)inch, Kyaukhtu (0.85)inch and Yamethin (0.71)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Eastcentral Bay has moved Eastcentral and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast to intensify further into a depression during next (48)hours.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st October, 2016: Weather is partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Coastal areas.
