SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan Sates, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago Region, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine (4.69)inches, Maungdaw (4.53)inches, Bago (4.13)inches, Gwa (3.82)inches, Nyaunglaybin (3.63)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.30)inches, Launglone (3.19)inches, Taungkok and Hlaingbwe (3.11)inches each, Manaung (3.03)inches, Yangon (North Dagon)and Hpa-an (2.95)inches each, Maubin and Paung (2.83)inches each, Zalun (2.68)inches, Thandwe and Hainggyikyun (2.56)inches each and Paing Kyone (2.52)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.
