SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Bago and Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Southern Shan States and  widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyaukpyu (4.77)inches, Thandwe (3.26)inches, Sittwe (3.19)inches, Manaung and Kyeikmayaw (2.95)inches each, Myitkyina and Labutta (2.83)inches each, Gwa (2.56)inches, Pinlaebu (2.52)inches, Mudon (2.40)inches, Thaton (2.32) inches, Paingkyone (2.25)inches, Belin (2.20)inches, Kyarinseikgyi (2.19)inches, Nyauntone (2.18)inches, Yay (2.12)inches, Theinzayet (2.09)inches and Phyarpon, Hainggyikyun and Hlaingbwe  (2.05)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, Shan, Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady  Region, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
