SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Magway Region, Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Kachin and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Paung (3.86)inches, Yangon (North Dagon) (3.74)inches, Sittwe (2.79)inches, Hkamti and Yangon (Kaba-Aye) (2.60)inches each, Central Yangon and Thaton (2.52)inches each, Maungdaw (2.28) inches, Yay (2.25)inches and Yangon (Mingaladon) (2.05)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, Shan (South and East), Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
