SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Shan (North and East) State, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw and Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Machanbaw (6.06)inches, Pobbathiri (3.74)inches, Naypyitaw Airport (Ela) (3.42)inches, Theinzayet and Kyeikmayaw (3.35)inches each, Hamwbi (2.76)inches, Namsam (2.68)inches, Kawthong (1.82)inches, Myiek (1.78)inches, Thandwe (1.73)inches, Putao (1.69) inches, Manaung (1.65)inches and Pyinnama (1.50)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West central Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, Shan (North and East) and Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State.
