SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past

(24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershower

have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, (Nothern and Eastern) Shan State,

scattered in Magway Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in

Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kachin and Kayin

States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally

heavy falls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were

Kyauktaw (5.98)inches, Maungdaw (5.63)inches, Myauk U (3.54)inches,

Homalin (2.68) inches, Phyarpon (2.52)inches, Myaungmya (2.40)inches,

Hkamti (2.29)inches, Manaung (2.24)inches and Ann (2.17)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Yesterday’s low pressure area over Northwest Bay of

Bengal has intensified into a depression.According to the observations at

(12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression near Canning (India) and the coastal

area of west Bengal has moved to the Northward. It is located at about (28)

miles Northeast of Kolkata(India) and (32) miles Southwest of Jessore

(Bangladesh). It is forecast to move Northwards.  Monsoon is moderate to

strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over

the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 11th August, 2016: Rain or

thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway

Regions, Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper

Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin and Kayin States and widespread in the

remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in

Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Chin, Kayin and Mon States. Degree

of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off

and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.

Likelihood of moderate to rough sea elsewhere in Maynmar water.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
