SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershower have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, scattered in Kachin, Shan (North and South) and Chin States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, isolated heavy falls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yangon (North Dagon) (7.13)inches, Myaungmya (5.47)inches, Hainggyikyun (5.16)inches, Gwa (4.84)inches, Maubin (4.29)inches, Pathein (4.17)inches, Central Yangon (3.97)inches, Hinthada (3.54)inches, Yangon (Mingaladon) (3.11)inches, Labutta (2.99)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.92)inches, Yangon (Kaba-Aye) (2.56)inches and Moekok (2.01)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 9th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Southern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway Region, Kachin and Shan(North and East) States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States.
