SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershower have been scattered in Kachin and Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayin and Mon States, isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Belin (7.28)inches, Thaton (6.06)inches, Yay (6.03)inches, Gwa (5.75)inches, Hpa-an (4.56)inches, Launglone (4.49)inches, Sinphyugyun (4.06)inches, Mandalay and Paung (3.82)inches each, Minbu (3.35)inches, Magway (3.15)inches, Myingyan (3.11)inches, Kalay (2.91) inches, Kyeikkhame (2.83)inches, Dawei (2.76)inches, Hinthada (2.48)inches, Pathein (2.36)inches, Phyu (2.28)inches, Nyaunglaybin (2.24)inches, Natogyi (2.20)inches, Singu (2.10)inches and Mudon (2.01)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over Northeast Bay of Bengal adjoining Northwest and East Central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 1st August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin and Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45) m.p.h.
