SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin and Nothern Shan States, rain of thundershower have been isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago and Yangon Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Khayan (2.01)inches, Shwegyin (1.74)inches, Pinlaung and Loikaw (1.69)inches each, Myeik (1.61)inches, Falam and Kyaukpyu (1.49)inches each, Bago (1.46) inches, Loilin (1.42)inches and Nyaunglaybin (1.38)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the tropical strom “Mirinae” has crossed Northern Coast of Vietnam. It is forecast to move Norhtwest wards as a tropical depression and weaken gradually.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 29th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Chin State and scattered in in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at time Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
