SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, southwest monsoon has established into the whole country. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. The observed highest Ultra Violet indexes were Naypyitaw (5.4), Yangon (5.8) and Mandalay (11+). The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thandwe (6.38)inches, Haingyikyun (4.45)inches, Sittwe (4.34)inches, Pinlebu (3.42)inches, Moekok (3.27) inches, Manaung (3.15)inches, Gwa (3.07)inches, Yangon (North Dagon) (3.03)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.95)inches, Pinlaung (2.83)inches, Taungkok (2.76)inches, Labbuta (2.72)inches, Monyin (2.63)inches, Phyarpon (2.60)inches and Launglone (2.48)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 10th June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off  and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
