SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past

(24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway

and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions,

(Southern and Northern) Shan State, widespread in the remaining Regions and

States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy

falls in Magway Region. The observed highest Ultra Violet indexes were

Naypyitaw (6.1), Yangon (7.6) and Mandalay (10.5). The noteworthy amounts

of rainfall recorded were Kyeikkhame (7.28)inches, Paung (5.59)inches, Sittwe

(5.47)inches, Kyeikmayaw (4.87)inches, Taungkok (4.84) inches, Chaungsone

(4.37)inches, Mawlamyine (4.02)inches, Manaung (3.90)inches, Mudon (3.70)

inches, Kyaukpyu (3.07)inches and Yay (3.04)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and South Bay

and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 9th June, 2016: Rain or

thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions,

fairly widespread in Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Shan and Kayah

States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally

heavy falls in Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Magway and Ayeyarwady

Regions, Kachin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at time

Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off  and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed

in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar

waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
