30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Taninthayi Region and weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Shan and Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperature were about November average temperature in the whole country. The significant night temperatures were (7°C) in Pinlaung, (8°C) each in Putao, Loilin and Hakha, (9°C) in Hkamti. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded was Kawthong (0.63) inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the southeast Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 30th November, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Taninthayi and Yangon Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong Easterly winds with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong Easterly winds may reach (30-35) mph. Seas will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
