27-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Rakhine and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Belin (4.61)inches, Thayat (4.49)inches, Thaton (4.45)inches, Paung (4.21)inches, Theinzayet and Myauk U (4.02)inches each, Nyaunglaybin (3.78)inches, Chaungsone (3.70)inches, Hlegu (3.46)inches, Sittwe and Yangon (Kaba – aye) (3.38)inches each, Phyu and Kyauktaw (3.31)inches each, Yangon (Central) and Mawlamyine (3.27)inches each, Madauk (3.19)inches, Bago (3.14)inches, Khayan (2.99)inches, Taungkok (2.87) inches, Ganggaw (2.83)inches, Manaung (2.80)inches and Paletwa and Yay (2.75)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over East Central Bay has moved to Central Bay of Bengal and still persists. Monsoon is weak to moderate in the Andaman Sea and strong in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 20th September, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with rough sea will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.
