01-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Southwestwards and crossed North Tamil Nadu coast near Puducherry(India) and downgraded into a Deep depression. It is likely to move continuously West-Southwestwards and crossing the interior of Tamil Nadu(India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Shan State, isolated in Mandalay, Bago and  Taninthayi Regions, Chin and Kayah States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (6°C) above April average temperatures in Kachin State, (3°C) to (4°C) above April average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Mon States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (42°C) each in Nyaung Oo, Minbu and Aunglan and (41°C) each in Monywa, Mandalay, Myingyan, Kyaukse, Chauk, Magway, Sinphyugyun and Kyobinkauk. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Pinlaung (1.30) inches, Nay Pyi Taw (Zabuthiri) (1.14) inches, Phyu (0.47) inch, Madauk (0.43) inch and Kawthong (0.31) inch.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 17th April, 2015: Weather will be partly cloudy in Magway Region, Kayin and Mon States and rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (60%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in the Upper Myanmar areas.
