01-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Southwestwards and crossed North Tamil Nadu coast near Puducherry(India) and downgraded into a Deep depression. It is likely to move continuously West-Southwestwards and crossing the interior of Tamil Nadu(India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Taninthayi Region, Shan and Kayin states, isolated in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States, weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were  (3°C) above April average temperatures in Kachin and Southern Shan States, (7°C) below April average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about April average temperatures in  the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (42°C) each in Kyobinkauk and Bawlakhae and (41°C) each in Yamethin, Chauk, Minbu, Magway and Sinphyugyun. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hpa-an (1.50) inches, Taungkok (0.63) inch, Hlaingbwe (0.59) inch, Heho (0.51) inch and Hakha (0.48) inch.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 14th April, 2015: Rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Chin, Kayah,  Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (60%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly wind may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of day temperatures in the Central Myanmar areas.
