SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Magway and Bago Regions, Southern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions and Kachin and Chin States, widespread in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthaung (4.92)inches, Taungkok (3.15) inches, Putao (2.83)inches, Launglone (2.72)inches, Belin (2.60)inches, Hkamti (2.44)inches and Myeik (2.04)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State and widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin and Rakhine States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 - 9) feet along Myanmar Coast.
