12-11-2024:  According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts (India) still persists. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago and Yangon Regions, Chin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kuauktaw (8.78)inches, Paung (7.17)inches, Myauk U (6.34)inches, Kyaukpyu (6.22)inches, Kyobinkauk (5.12)inches, Sittwe (4.92)inches, Hpa-an (4.45)inches, Thandaunggyi (4.21)inches, Ann and Belin (4.14)inches each, Central Yangon (4.05)inches, Maungdaw (3.74)inches, Hakha and Thandwe (3.63)inches each.  

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (11:30) hrs MST today, the depression over Northeast Bay of Bengal has intensified further into a deep depression and it is centered at about (40) miles West-Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh), (70) miles South-Southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh), (65)miles Northwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar) and (110) miles Northwest  of Sittwe (Myanmar). Monsoon is strong to Vigorous in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 30th July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in the whole country with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Shan State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45 - 50) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
