SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Bago Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and fairly widespread in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.31 inches in Myingyan, 1.69 inches in Chauk, 1.53 inches in Mandalay(Aungmyaythasan), 1.38 inches in Minbu, 1.34 inches in Patheingyi, 1.30 inches in Mahlaing, 1.26 inches each in Tharrawady and Ingabu, 1.22 inches in Latpandan and 1.20 inches in Thagon.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “DANA” that crossed North Odisha and West Bengal Coasts between Puri and Sagar Island close to Dhamara(India) has moved North-Northwestwards and reached the interior of Odisha and weaken into a Cyclonic Storm “DANA”. It is likely to move Northwestwards and continue may cross the interior of Odisha and gradually weaken. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, North Bay, Westcentral Bay and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Severe Tropical Storm“TRAMI” over the South China Sea has moved West-Northwestwards. It is forecast likely to move Westwards.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway, Taninthayi Regions, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay Region and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
