SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mon State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.61 inches in Mandalay(Aungmyaythasan), 3.07 inches in Kalewa, 2.31 inches in Wundwin, 2.28 inches each in Mawlaik and Sagaing, 2.16 inches in Mandalay (Chanayethasan), 2.11 inches in Htilin, 1.97 inches each in Myinmu and Nyaung Oo, 1.93 inches in Ayadaw, 1.69 inches each in Mingin and Madaya and 1.65 inches in Kyaukpyu.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “DANA” over Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 390 Nautical miles West-Northwest of Gwa(Myanmar), 120 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Dhamara(India). Weather is cloudy over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay, Westcentral Bay and South Bay and cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Typhoon “TRAMI” over Luzon Island(Philippines) has moved West-Southwest and reached over South China Sea. It is forecast likely to move Westwards.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Eastern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Southern Shan, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 50-55 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 11-15 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
