24-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial India Ocean still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, it is likely continue to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Chin State, scattered in Yangon Region and (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.42 inches in Nanyun, 3.27 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.15 inches in Kamamaung, 2.68 inches in Machanbaw, 2.10 inches in Myaungmya, 1.97 inches in Hpa-an, 1.81 inches in Putao, 1.70 inches in Lahe, 1.65 inches in Khayan and 1.58 inches each in Hkamti and Gyobingauk.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal(India) has become less marked. Weather is cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of withdrawl of southwest monsoon from the Deltaic Myanmar Areas.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 6th October 2024:             Likelihood of isolated light rain with sunny period. Degree of certainty is 60%.
