SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region, scattered in Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.15 inches in Phyarpon, 2.64 inches in Tharrawady, 2.55 inches each in Yangon(Botahtaung) and Paing Kyone, 2.28 inches in Kungyangon, 2.24 inches in Mawlamyinekyun, 2.17 inches in Yangon(Manyangone), 1.93 inches each in Gyobingauk and Myeik, 1.89 inches in Shwekyin and 1.77 inches in Coco Island.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and has further intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal(off North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha, India). It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining South Odisha Coasts during next 48 hours. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions.
STATE OF THE SEA: squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
