SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and Rakhine, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Chin State andwidespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.69 inches in Mandalay(Chanmyatharsi), 4.65 inches in Patheingyi, 3.98 inches in Mandalay(Aungmyaytharsan), 3.66 inches in Mandalay(Chanayetharsan), 3.62 inches in Myeik, 3.54 inches in Myitnge, 2.95 inches in Pyin Oo Lwin(Zee Pin Gyi), 2.79 inches in Monywa, 2.60 inches in Dawei, 2.58 inches in Ngazun and 2.56 inches in Sagaing.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin State.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6 - 8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
