SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.45 inches in Hmawbi, 3.43 inches in Hlegu, 2.61 inches in Danubyu, 2.37 inches in Sittwe, 2.17 inches in Kyonpyaw, 2.10 inches in Thabaung, 2.01 inches each in Nyaunglaybin and Belin, 2.00 inches in Bogale, 1.81 inches each in Minesat and Manaung and 1.73 inches each in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri) and Phyu.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West Bengal, India and adjoining Bangladesh still persists. It is likely to move Westwards and may cross West Bengal, India. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Eastern Shan, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon over the Bay of Bengal.
