23-11-2024: Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal, partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and  Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.21 inches in Dawei, 2.24 inches in Tamu, 2.17 inches in Mawlaik, 2.08 inches in Sittwe, 2.00 inches in Paing Kyone, 1.93 inches each in Hpa-an and Mudon, 1.85 inches in Myitkyina, 1.82 inches in Gangaw and 1.64 inches in Ye.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West Bengal, India and adjoining Bangladesh still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and may cross West Bengal, India. Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kachin, Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
