23-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.63 inches in Sittwe, 5.12 inches in Manaung, 4.89 inches in Gwa, 3.75 inches in Ngapudaw, 3.35 inches in Mawlaik, 3.11 inches in Homalin, 2.64 inches in Einme, 2.25 inches in Danubyu, 2.17 inches in Hainggyigyun and 2.09 inches each in Kalewa, Tharrawady and Belin.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over  South Bangladesh still persists. It is likely to move north-northwestwards and may further intensify into a Well marked low pressure area over Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, India during next (19-8-2024). Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards and may cross Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand, India. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in  Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
