8-9-2024:: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move nearly Northwards and may further intensify into a Depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Odisha- Gangetic West Bengal Coast, India) during next 24 hours.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has reached Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Odisha and adjoining North Andhra Pradesh Coasts. It is centered at about 420 Nautical miles West of Kyaukpyu, 380 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittiwe (Myanmar), 40 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puri, 75 Nautical miles East of Gopalpur and 70 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Paradip (India). Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-14 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
