30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Northern Shan, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.71 inches in Kalewa, 2.95 inches in Sittwe, 2.49 inches in Namsam (Southern Shan), 1.97 inches in Hakha, 1.93 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 1.89 inches in Falam, 1.85 inches in Coco Island, 1.69 inches in Kalay, 1.50 inches in Ingabu and 1.42 inches in Kungyangon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Bago Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
