8-9-2024:: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move nearly Northwards and may further intensify into a Depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Odisha- Gangetic West Bengal Coast, India) during next 24 hours.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered in Bago Region and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.78 inches in Hkamti, 3.31 inches in Hsipaw, 2.55 inches in Katha, 2.24 inches in Myaungmya, 1.97 inches each in Thabeikkyin and Einme, 1.95 inches in Bogale, 1.84 inches in Kyonpyaw, 1.73 inches in Nyaung Shwe and 1.46 inches in Mawlamyinegyun.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Bago Regions and fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
