30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and strong over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 28th June 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing ,Mandalay ,Magway, Taninthayi Regions Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and  Kayin ,Mon States widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in  Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin,  Shan, Chin States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be  moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States.
