30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with reagionally heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.57 inches in Hainggyigyun, 4.72 inches in Kyeikkhame, 4.33 inches in Chaungsone, 4.17 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.86 inches in Coco Island, 3.66 inches in Hkamti, 3.19 inches in Labutta, 3.03 inches in Hmawbi, 2.96 inches in Dawei and 2.72 inches in Myitkyina.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th June 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady,Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6 - 8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuations of increase of rain in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States.
