SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperature in Chin State and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Bago Region and Eastern Shan, Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Southern Shan, Kayin States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (4°C) each in Kyaukmae, Heho and Tiddim and (5°C) each in Falam and Pyinoolwin. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (0.12) inch in Kengtung and (0.04) inch in Minesat.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th January 2024: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3-6) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.
