SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Kayin State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperatures in Northern Shan, Chin States and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, (3°C) above January average temperature in Mon State, (5°C) above January average temperature in Kayin State and about January average temperatures in the remaing Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (0°C) in Hakha, (3°C) each in Kyaukmae, Heho and Pyinoolwin and (4°C) each in Putao, Tiddim and Mogoke.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th January 2024: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Eastern Shan, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3-6) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States.
