SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been generally fair in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below December average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (2°C) above December average temperature in (Northern and Southern)Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (4°C) in Hakha, (5°C) in Loilin, (6°C) in Heho and (7°C) each in Mongyang and Tiddim.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, Southeast and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th December 2023: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrerase of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.
