SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Magway Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.16) inches in Mudon, (5.00) inches in Chaungsone, (4.84) inches in Mawlamyine, (4.00) inches in Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), (3.98)inches in Gwa, (3.82) inches in Paung, (3.70) inches each in Thandwe and Launglon, (3.62) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (2.90) inches in Bogale and (2.52) inches in Hmawbi.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Southern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from Northern Myanmar areas.
