SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in  Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Mon States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) above May average temperature in Bago Region,  (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State, (2°C) above May average temperatures in (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States and (2°C) below May average temperatures in Magway Region and Northern Shan State and (4°C) below May average temperature in Chin State and about normal average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) each in Chauk, Pyay and Taunggu and (42°C) each in Myinmu, Lunkyaw, Minbu, Magway, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi, Zaung Tu, Shwekyin, Tharrawady, Taunggu(Avia-Met) and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (0.98) inch in Labutta, (0.39) inch each in Hlaingtat and Kawthaung and (0.08) inch each in Thipaw, Falam, Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) and Kyeikkhame.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Southwest and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 06th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions.

The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: The Cumulonimbus clouds start to develop over the Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4 - 6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi, Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 06th May, 2023:          Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (60%).

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 06th May, 2023:               Partly cloudy.

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 06th May, 2023:           Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (60%).

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon Region.
