SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan and Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below December average temperatures in Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Northern and Eastern)Shan and Kayah States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (4°C)each in Namsam and Heho, (6°C)each in Thipaw, Pinlaung, Loilin and Tiddim.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, Typhoon “Tembin” over the South China Sea has downgraded into Severe Tropical Storm and it’s centered at about (205)miles Southeast of Hochiminh(Vietnam). It is moving to Westwards and forecast to downgrade into a Tropical Storm.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th DECEMBER, 2017: Rain are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainly is (60%).Weather will be partly cloudy in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4 - 7) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
