BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “SITRANG” overWestcentral Bay and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northeastwards and centered at about (360) Nautical miles West-Northwest ofHainggyigyun, (340) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Thandwe, (295) Nautical miles Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), (240) Nautical miles South of Sagar Island (India) and (320) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Barisal(Bangladesh).Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 24th October, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago,Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Magway region and Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions. STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squall with rough to very rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (60) mph. Squall with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35 - 40) mph. Wave height will be about (14-18) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (9-11) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
