SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolatted in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Southern Shan, Kayah Sates, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfall in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Chin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (7.64) inches in Kyauktaw, (6.15) inches in Maungdaw, (5.63) inches in Sittwe, (4.72) inches in Paletwa, (3.74) inches in Hmawbi, (3.31) inches in Kyaukpyu, (3.19) inches in Myauk U, (3.11) inches in Gwa, (2.83) inches in Manaung, (2.36) inches in Putao, (2.32) inches in Ann and (1.92) inches each in Yangon(Mingaladon) and Myaungmya.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th June, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfall in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfall in Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (5-7)feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Likelihood of slight increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
