SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, scattered in Magway Region, Southern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan State and widespread in Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kayin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyeikkhame (4.96)inches, Hlaingbwe (4.57)inches, Hkamti (3.66)inches, Thandaunggyi (2.95)inches, Putao and Kyeikmayaw (2.76)inches each, Taungkok (2.24)inches, Phyarpon (2.21)inches and  Aunglan (2.01)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Shan (South and East), Rakhine and Kayah States, widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Region,  Kachin, Kayin and Mon State. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be weak to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-7)feet in along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Shan States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 5th September, 2017: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainly is (100%).
