SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours,  rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Mon State, fairly widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, isolated in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions,  Kachin and Shan States, weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) below March average temperature in Eastern Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above March average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan (Northern and Southern), Kayah States and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) each in Chauk, Minbu and Magway. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Paung (2.56)inches, Pyinoolwin (2.43)inches, Myeik (2.16)inches, Homalin (2.00)inches, Hpa-an (1.10)inches and Central Yangon (0.91)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and generally fair elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 26th March, 2015: Rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (60%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Gulf of Mottama off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly wind may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in the Lower Myanmar areas.
